Science Museum – Ada Lovelace
All Things worked with graphic designer Jana Vodickova on the design of this temporary exhibition on the life and work of Ada Lovelace. Opened on Ada Lovelace Day, 13th October 2015, the exhibition brings together a selection of Ada’s correspondence, several portraits and the calculating machines of Charles Babbage that influenced her work in mathematics and coding.
The design of the space reflects what Lovelace called the “north and south polarities” of analysis and imagination, the visual language taking inspiration from both the polished precision of the Analytical Engine and the very personal handwritten correspondence.
